JODY GREENLEE, RN, BSN, FOUNDER,  EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Jody earned a BSN degree from the University of Kentucky College of Nursing.  Jody worked in pediatric hematology and neonatal intensive care.   In 2000, Jody retired to foster two medically fragile Guatemalan children.  Jody served as Board President of Children of the Americas (international medical relief nonprofit) for seven years and then as Vice-President.  Since 2000, Jody travels twice a year to provide medical and humanitarian services in the rural mountains of Guatemala.  Jody also serves on the Executive Board of the Neighborhood Association and as Board President of the Center Court Owner's Association. As founder and Executive Director of Finding Freedom through Friendship (FFF), Jody has a passion for providing services to impoverished women and children in emerging countries.

MARGUERITE DOYLE, MIDDLE EAST DIRECTOR & CFO

Marguerite was born in Sudan and spent her early years, untraditionally, in the jungles of Africa.  Marguerite Doyle graduated top of her class with a master's degree in electrical engineering and computer science, a field predominately dominated by men in America.  After an impressive 35-year career at IBM and Lexmark, she decided to focus on her philanthropic passion of improving women's lives in the impoverished regions of Africa.

FABIOLA SAMAYOA, BOARD MEMBER & FACILITATOR

Fabiola is a Guatemalan resident.  Fabiola's background is in public accounting and auditing.   Fabiola and her husband have a profound passion for helping people experiencing lack of education, health, and nutrition.  

Fabiola has been an FFF facilitator since FFF began.   Facilitators are the primary contact between participants and Finding Freedom through Friendship.  They identify participants, enroll children in school, disburse food and medicine, coordinate lodging, purchase land, provide moral and spiritual growth. Fabi and her husband have a unique talent for holistically connecting with our widows and their children.  (Member since 2010)

RAE ELLA HOUSE, MARKETING DIRECTOR

Rae is the CEO of Creative Marketing in Lexington, KY, since 1984. Rae's visionary ideas and striking executions have stunned her customers and have garnered several prestigious awards.   FFF is honored to have such an accomplished professional for advertising, marketing material, promotional strategies, and web design.  Her compassion for others and dedication to our non-profit are deep and genuine.  Member since 2014

MARY KAY HALL, RN, SECRETARY

Mary Kay graduated from Samuel Merritt Hospital School of Nursing in Oakland, CA, in 1976 and earned her BSN at EKU in 1992. Her work experience includes psychiatric nursing, ER, and ICU nursing. She first discovered Guatemala on a mission trip in 2007.  Although she has not been able to return, she continues to volunteer her time and enthusiasm toward issues concerning Guatemala. Mary Kay has excellent organizational skills and is known for her compassionate spirit and interest in making a difference in the lives of those in need.  Member since 2010.

RAAFAT GIRGIS, BOARD MEMBER

The Delta Presbytery, Synod of the Nile, in Egypt 1982 ordained Raafat.  He received three more degrees after working and studying in several ministries in Egypt and the USA.  He is the lead pastor for New Rehoboth-Greenville and Pisgah Presbyterian Churches in PA.  He also chairs the Presbytery Outreach Commission.  Raafat believes in innovations that serve the "least among us" by building bridges and bringing renewal and growth to the sanctuary and the community.  He networks internationally to pursue partnerships for justice and peace.  (Member since 2021)

ERIN YOUNG, BOARD MEMBER

Erin received her International Montessori teaching certificate from the North American Montessori Center in 2009 and graduated from Walden University in 2014 with a BS in Early Childhood Development.  Before venturing into the corporate world, she enjoyed teaching Montessori Preschool for six years.  She has worked at Humana Inc. for the past seven years, growing her leadership and process improvement interests.  Erin hopes that her passion and awareness for the well-being of children can help to enrich further the lives of the families of Finding Freedom Through Friendship.  (Member since 2022)

KATHY TOMA, BOARD MEMBER

Kathy Toma is a Regional Manager for Lexia Learning, part of the Cambium Learning Group corporation. She oversees the East Domain of the United States in LETRS Implementation (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling), professional learning for educators focusing on the Science of Reading. Before her position with Lexia, Kathy served as a high school and middle school English teacher, an instructional coach, a district-level administrator in Curriculum and Instruction, and the Director of K-12 Literacy in the largest school district in North Carolina. She has a husband and four adult children and resides in North Carolina. Her profound devotion and knowledge of children's education enhance FFF's programs.  (Member since 2022)

ANN KITCHEN, BOARD MEMBER

Ann graduated with a BSIE and an MBA-Marketing. She worked for over twenty years in a corporate organization. In 2006, she adopted a daughter from Guatemala. Ann and her daughter have traveled numerous times to Guatemala to visit their daughters' birth and foster families. They also went on several compassionate missions in Guatemala. Ann loves to travel, volunteers for the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and fosters Chow Chows that need a quiet place to rehabilitate. Her empathy for Guatemala and its people drives Ann to improve the quality of life for participants in the FFF program.  (Member since 2022)

ELSA LIEBENBERG , BOARD MEMBER

Elsa grew up on a farm in South Africa and graduated from Stellenbosch University in 1988 with a B. Sc degree in Physical Therapy. Her work experience includes neurological rehabilitation, lung therapy, sports injuries, back and neck pain, and community work.

She has been on mission trips to Mozambique, Malawi, South Africa, and Holland.

Elsa is also active in her local church.

In 2000, Elsa moved to America with her husband and children. They established a construction business in which they continue to operate. She helps and encourages people to reach their potential abilities. (Member since 2022)

NAGWA AHLBORG , BOARD MEMBER

Nagwa was born in Egypt and immigrated to the USA at age fourteen. She holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and a master's degree in business administration. With four children, three boys and a girl, Nagwa stayed home to care for them. Yet, Nagwa always remained active in her community and local schools. Nagwa was the school's PTA treasurer for twenty years. She also served on the Richfield Parks Board and her Church's Council. She has deep compassion for people experiencing poverty. Since 2010, Nagwa has managed and coordinated the soup kitchen in Akron, Ohio. Her empathy towards the less fortunate inspired Nagwa to accept an FFF board position.  (Member since 2022)

LISA ANFOUS , BOARD MEMBER

Lisa Anfous, a Lexington, KY resident, graduated in 1987 with an associate degree in business. She is a mother of two young adults and has spent her career in banking. Lisa is fluent in Arabic and has traveled to several Middle Eastern countries. Lisa has a home in Palestine, where her extended family resides. Lisa knows Middle Eastern women and has a deep compassion for helping those who struggle for survival. Lisa offers the board culture, strategic focus, effectiveness, and financial sustainability.  (Member since 2022)

BAILEY ONUOHA , BOARD MEMBER

Bailey graduated with a master’s in Christian Family and Marriage Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. She is studying for her boards to pursue a Family and Marriage Therapist license. Bailey's passion is serving refugees and underprivileged youth from all over the world. Bailey hopes to assist refugees through education and mental health services. Bailey's most profound power is to deliver God's hope, love, and comfort to those experiencing trauma and pain. Bailey offers ideas to those needing trauma care, a severely neglected area in developing countries.  (Member since 2022)

BETSY ANDERSON , BOARD MEMBER

Betsy graduated with an associate degree in nursing in 2001, and since then, she has worked in Medical Intensive Care Units for the last 15 years. Betsy went on her first medical mission in 2003, where she fell in love with Guatemala and its people. Since then, Betsy has been to Guatemala more than 25 times, providing nursing care to rural Mayan women and children. Betsy aims to improve healthcare accessibility through preventive care and support health education. Betsy brings cultural awareness, compassion, and long-term knowledge of nursing care for disadvantaged people.  (Member since 2023)
